The employees of The Farmers National Bank of Emlenton - Operations Department, recently donated 50 filled stockings to the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home of Clarion in support of their annual Veterans & Family Memorial Care Stockings for Soldiers initiative.
The Stockings for Soldiers program is hosted by Veterans & Family Memorial Care, a national organization which specializes in providing organizational and informational support for the families of late veterans. The organization provides free stockings around the country to volunteers who decorate and stuff them with holiday goodies.
The stockings donated by Farmers will be shipped to area community members who are currently serving abroad and are unable to be home for the holiday season. The Knights of Columbus Council #7549 and the VFW Post #2145, both of Clarion, PA, are assisting with shipping expenses for the stockings this year.
