The employees of The Farmers National Bank of Emlenton recently donated $550 to the Make-A-Wish annual fundraising campaign held in St. Marys. Employees of the Bank raised money for this donation through their Community Jeans Day program.
Accepting the donation on behalf of Make-A-Wish was John Salter, representative of The River, 98.9 radio station. Representing the Farmers National Bank of Emlenton were Heather Serafini, Emily King, Nisse Sunberg, Diane Dobson and Debra Schatz.
Community Jeans Day is an employee program that spans bank-wide and benefits local organizations within the Bank footprint. Employees of the Bank are encouraged to donate each month and in return, are permitted to wear jeans on Fridays. All money raised goes back into the community through gifting to local, non-profit organizations.
On Friday, December 5, 2014, The Farmers National Bank of Emlenton hosted the Make-A-Wish fundraising event at the St. Marys office from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. Those in attendance included Make-A-Wish recipients, representatives from The River, 98.9, community members placing donations, and appearances by various musical groups from the St. Marys area. Donations raised during the event totaled over $24,000.
