EMLENTON, PA – The Farmers National Bank of Emlenton is partnering with local school districts to celebrate the American Bankers Association’s Teach Children to Save Day initiative by providing savings education through online financial literacy courses. Local students will explore the difference between needs and wants, learn how to identify expenses, trade-offs and ways to cut spending.
Established by the American Bankers Association Foundation in 1997, Teach Children to Save and the Foundation’s other financial education initiatives have helped reach 10.5 million young people through the commitment of more than 260,000 banker volunteers.

Amidst the continued school closings and institution of hybrid learning environments resulting from COVID-19, we still felt that it was important to share in the responsibility to teach financial literacy to students in our community. We developed virtual lessons for grades K-12 that students can do independently and learn about banking and managing their money.
