The Board of Directors of The Farmers National Bank of Emlenton recently elected to pledge a $50,000 gift to support the Clarion County YMCA’s capital campaign. These funds will be used to assist in the construction of the new full-service facility located in Clarion, PA.
“The Board of Directors and I are impressed by the abundance of services slated to be provided by the Clarion County YMCA and the number of lives that this facility will touch, many of whom are employees and customers of our Bank. We strongly believe in positively impacting our local communities, investing in neighboring areas and being a part of enhancements which provide tangible social and health benefits.” said William C. Marsh, Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer of The Farmers National Bank of Emlenton.
Accepting the donation on behalf of the Clarion County YMCA was Milissa Bauer, Campaign Cabinet Co-Chair. Representing the Farmers National Bank of Emlenton were Mr. Marsh, Board of Directors member Jim Crooks and Jennifer Roxbury, Senior Vice President, Chief Operating Officer.
The $8.1 million full-service Clarion County YMCA will be located near Exit 62 of I-80 and the Clarion Oaks Golf Course. The campaign’s silent phase raised over $5.4 million (almost 70 percent) from lead gifts and commitments by a small group of key individuals, including more than $600,000 in pledges from the local YMCA Board.
"The campaign for the remaining $2.7 million launched a little over one month ago has now raised nearly $800,000, mostly from local community businesses who have made substantial donations, similar to Farmers National Bank of Emlenton, to express their gratitude to their customers and employees,” said Bauer.
The project is now almost 80 percent funded towards its goal. The new building, among other facilities, will bring access to a lane lap swimming/therapy pool and other year-round recreation activities. The YMCA is a not-for-profit 501(c) 3 entity. The plan is to complete the project by late 2016.
